Jones v Ignatius

Jones uses his stereotype to his advantage. He is involuntarily put into a stereoptype because he is African American. On page 218- 219 Darlene says, "Put the record on" and Jones responds with, "Recor playin pretty advance for color peoples. I probably break your machine." According to Jones, part of the stereotype of being African American is not knowing how to do anything that needs skill. Ignatius isolates himself from everyone and puts himself into his own stereotype. He either completely disagrees with what anyone has to say or wants to try to lead everyone in his ideas. Two examples of his stereoptype are the protest he tries to start at Levy Pants and trying to get Dorian to help him start new ideas for the way America should be run.
