What Makes Ignatius Want to Be in Society?

I think Ignatius' relatonship with his mother impacts his personality and contributes to his struggles alot. The fact that Mrs. Reilly still treats him like a kid, makes Ignatius' believe that he has the ability to manipulate people. I think Ignatius is beginning to realize that he is not only exiling himself, but that the general public outcast him as well. At this same time, Mrs. Reilly starts hanging out with Santa Bataglia and is being pulled away from Ignatius. I think this ultimately makes Ignatius feel lonely, and want to integrate into society. I also think this contributes to his attraction to Ms. Trixie. But what do you think? What do you think makes Ignatius want to migrate into sciety now, and work at different places when he was content with beng home and exiled from society?
